The amethysts I bought for a commission piece of a bracelet. I had a few left over, but due to the holes, wasn't sure of how to use them, they work well in a double-stranded bracelet. However, flicking through a book, I came across a similar looking Elizabethan design, and realised just how I could use these pretty stones. I'm very proud of the final product.

I love these stones. The flowers are so pretty, and well carved, that I just had to have them as drops. I love them so much, the light shines through them and the quality just shows.

I'm always looking for something different, so when I discovered the joys of making a 'beady bead' (a big bead made from smaller beads), I just had to give it a go. I adore this technique because you get a delicate, lacy effect in the large bead, with detail from the smaller ones. I used solid silver wire to create these, I didn't want to spoil the piece by using anything else.

These stones have the most exquisite cut, and wonderful depth of colour. There was really only one option, I had to make it simple, but I think the end result is stunning.

These stones are just so pretty, the carving is so delicate and brings out the colour of the stones. I had to make sure they were shown off as much as possible!

I found the amethyst flowers at a supplier, and immediately bought them without a clear plan of what to do with them. I also bought some carved peridot leaves, but the effect was somewhat underwhelming, I felt it needed something more. So I added these marquise cut peridots. They have the depth of colour and the sparkle to turn these earrings into something really special.

I love amethyst, and adore the cut of these wonderful stones, each being a perfect pentagon. I wanted to create a necklace with these to highlight the graduated stones, but didn't want to use chain, or another stone that was coloured. Using these rich, gorgeous pearls worked so well I wanted to keep it for myself!

When I bought this strand of amethysts I had lots of plans for them, but I just couldn't break up such a wonderful look. the way it softly graduates is just so pretty, and the colour is magnificent. Stunning!

I had two very similar strands of amethyst faceted gems, and wanted to create a dangly, waterfall bracelet. I chose to mix the colours together as I loved the idea of shading throughout the bracelet. Rather than start with the darker colours and move to the lighter, I chose to mix them throughout. The effect is very subtle, but gives a lot of depth to the piece.

I loved these gemstones from the moment I saw them. The first piece I created was the necklace, feeling that a simple string of the beads would be more effective than grouping them. However, for the earrings, I realised that I could do something similar to the Amethyst Elegant Drop Earrings (http://www.jewellerydragon.com/E22008.htm) and have a 'shooting star' effect.
I think these both work really well as the necklace sits nicely on the collarbone, and because the earrings dangle, they have a lot of life and interest. In each way, they show off the stones perfectly, and work very well.

These tiny stones are just perfect when grouped. I wanted to get an Indian Maharaja feel to the necklace, capture the decadence of that period in Indian history. This is a wonderful piece to wear, and makes me feel very regal!

I had the amethysts left over from another project, and really wanted them to so in something special. I found the Karen Hill Tribe silver rounds, and had to have them to make this bracelet. The deep purple shines out from the silver so amazingly, I'm so glad I made that choice.

I love green amethyst, and to find a purple stone that matches in size is very unusual, so I decided to create a bracelet that combined the two. I added the stones to a chain charm-style so they would dangle, and allow the facets to sparkle magically.

These are stunning earrings. I found these beads, and noticing that they cascade down in size, wanted to make a dangly pair of earrings. I decided that a classic smallest at the top was the most suitable for these earrings.
They lok stunning on, and are lovely to wear! Very glamerous.

I love drops, and I thought the delicate colour of the amethysts was just so pretty they deserved to be showcased.
I love the purple and silver together, and the frosting just adds to the piece.
As they were round, I felt that a round earrings stud would suit them better than a drop, and I'm really pleased with the result. They are so feminine.
