Inspiration for pieces explained: Garnet and Silver Earrings

I wanted to create a matching pair of earrings for the Pearl and Garnet necklace (http://www.jewellerydragon.com/N22056.htm), and thought that garnet surrounded by silver would be just perfect. Although they would also go with the garnet necklace as well http://www.jewellerydragon.com/N22034.htm!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Garnet and Crimped Silver Bead Earrings

I adore the silver beads I used in these earrings, they are hand made in India and have such a pretty look! Pairing them with garnet was a no-brainer, the colour just shines out from the earrings.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Garnet Long Necklace

I love tear-drop beads, and these garnet ones are very unusual as the bead is flat, giving a lot of reflection off the large facet. I decided to string them onto a long necklace as I felt it would be a flexible piece, but would also make it magnificent. It worked so much better than I had hoped!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Autumnal Flower Necklace

I love tourmaline, and this is a very fine example. With such a cute, and simple piece, I decided that adding additional stones would take away from the unique nature of the piece.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Pretty Purple Flower Earrings

I love these stones. The flowers are so pretty, and well carved, that I just had to have them as drops.
I love them so much, the light shines through them and the quality just shows.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Amethyst Drop Necklace

I had this idea when I bought the chain, to frame amethysts with two long pieces. I love how this works, and it's a lovely piece to wear. I wanted the matching earrings to be simple and not overwhelm the necklace.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Ice Grapes Necklace

Inspired by a recent trip to Canada, where they make ice-wine, I found both these beads at different suppliers, and was delighted at how well they went together! Neither overwhelms, but yet the amethyst brings extra depth to the piece.
