These stones have the most exquisite cut, and wonderful depth of colour. There was really only one option, I had to make it simple, but I think the end result is stunning.

I adore these stones. They have such an unusual cut, and the frosted/faceted quality of them is just stunning, and subtle. I added the black agates to give a lovely contrast.

These garnets were just crying out to be shown off, so I decided on a lovely, simple setting. Stunning.

I really wanted to create a special range of jewellery, and the most precious gems available were the obvious choice. However, as I wanted to create an affordable range, I wanted to distribute the stones within the pieces, while still giving them the maximum impact. This was partially inspired by some incredible 'triangular' stones I had found, that I wanted to use in a special a piece as possible. These became earrings in the Oh My! range.
So, I decided to use rock crystal. Because of the high-sparkle impact of the stones, and the refractive qualities, it takes the rubies and really emphasises them to the max. I went for these larger rock crystals, and not the stones that inspired me as the original stones were very small, and have highly cut edges, making them perhaps uncomfortable to wear in a necklace, but perfect in earrings. I decided to not focus the rubies in one area, either, distributing them evenly with the rock crystal so you get the colour right around the necklace. Stunning, and very exiting!
Next step, diamonds :)

I adore rock crystal, and loved the shape of these. I originally bought them to create a necklace, but after looking at them lined up together, decided that what they really need to be was a bracelet, with multiple rows. Unfortunately with changed plans I had to go out and buy more beads as I was one bead short to complete the bracelet! Hmmm, now that's got me thinking, what about a matching necklace? Could be good...

I bought a vintage necklace that was mother or pearl beads and a mother of pearl pendant. I decided to re-string the pendant on a contrasting set of beads (note to self, still to do), which left me with a lot of vintage mother of pearl! I thought that a bracelet was the best solution, and to add contrast I used my favourite hand-cut garnets to give richness to the bracelet.
This one is slightly unusual in that I created an animation to show it being created! You can view the animation below, of see the full thing on YouTube: http://youtu.be/QiMzSQGEEEQ.

I found these hearts at a supplier, and decided that they would look great with red. Having these hand-cut garnets already, it wasn't too much of a leap to add them together!
