Inspiration for pieces explained: Crystal Clear Bracelet

I adore the clear beauty of these stones. Rock crystal is such an elegant look, and when I found these I knew I wanted to make a bracelet. I thought that a three-layered approach would be the best, allowing the beads to clatter together, and giving them a presence just one row would not have had.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Amethyst Elegant Drop Earrings

I found these gorgeous beads at one of my suppliers, and immediately bought up as many as I could. I made a bracelet for myself, which is very intense with the amount of beads, and also a stunning necklace http://www.jewellerydragon.com/HTML/Archive.htm

Because the stones were so tiny I realised they would only have impact in a large group, so I decided to use multiple strands of chain, and add the beads on randomly. I was delighted with the result, the stones sparkle very well, and the earrings are both fun and flirty!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Top and Bottom Banded Agate Earrings

I adore banded agate, and when I saw these beads I knew they would make the prefect earring. The Victorians loved agate, but they tended to use the blacker stones. I love the contrast in these with the black surrounding the white stripe.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Elegance Garnet Bracelet and necklace

I found this chain at a supplier, and wanted to make something special with it.
Rather than clutter it up, or even use it unadorned, I found that adding different sized garnets added to the piece in an unexpectedly graceful way.

The tiny spots of colour suit the large chain, and create a delicate piece.

The garnets are lovely as they are all hand-carved, giving them warmth and unusual faceting.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Feather and pearl earrings and necklace

I love the charm that hangs from these pieces, it was described as a leaf, but I couldn't help see them as feathers.

I added a tower of pearls above them because I felt they needed richness without being overwhelmed, and I felt that the pearls gave a 'feathery' feel to the piece. Love them very much!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Amethyst Cascading Dangle Earrings

These are stunning earrings. I found these beads, and noticing that they cascade down in size, wanted to make a dangly pair of earrings. I decided that a classic smallest at the top was the most suitable for these earrings.

They lok stunning on, and are lovely to wear! Very glamerous.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Flourite Earrings

These Flourite are a stunning size and shape. They don't quite match, but I think they look amazing together! I love the delicate stripes, I just felt they needed a drop, so included the gorgeous 'egg' beads at the bottom.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Rock Crystal Bracelet

I adore the clear beauty of these stones. Rock crystal is such an elegant look, and I couldn't resist these rectangular stones. Each one has four single 'facets', making this one of the most unusual braclets I have made.

Becuase they were so structured I decided to creat three rows of stones, giving this bracelet a very glamerous feel, with lots of sparkle.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Pear Rock Crystal Earrings

These gorgeous stones are just amazing, but work incredibly in groups where they fizz off each other. So I decided to create these earrings to show them off to their best.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Jasper Cuff Bracelet

These beads are just so amazing! Each one has a cut-out for a bead, and although I could have used a contrasting colour or more jasper, I decided on silver to give a shimmer to the piece, and not make the colours too overwhelming. I also like that it makes the piece 'metal' without being too masculine.

Inspiration for pieces explained: London Blue Topaz Necklace

I like simplicity when the piece itself is very strong, or elaborately shaped. The colour in this pendant is very gorgeous, and I felt it needed to stand on it's own.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Frothy Silver Necklace

I love this piece. I wanted to capture the feeling of being on the beach when the tide comes in, and decided to use silver beads to get the frothy feel of the foam. The piece has large, medium and small beads in it, all layered so they give lots of texture and depth. Gorgeous!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Silver and amethyst cascading necklace

These tiny stones are just perfect when grouped. I wanted to get an Indian Maharaja feel to the necklace, capture the decadence of that period in Indian history. This is a wonderful piece to wear, and makes me feel very regal!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Towering Garnet and Pearl Earrings

I wanted to create a pair of statement earrings, and I wanted to use some gorgeous roundel beads I had. Pairing  them with a pearl was easy, the contrast in the colours is just so delicious!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Gorgeous Garnet Bracelet

I love garnets and silver, they enhance each other so well! I wanted to give this piece texture, so I used a couple of sizes in the stone. The piece works really well as it is such a delight to wear, lots of dangle!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Red Berries Coral Bracelet

I found these beads and knew I wanted to make a rich, colourful bracelet out of them. I chose to layer the beads rather than string them as I thought it would give texture and life to the coral.

It looks wonderful on, and is a terrific piece to wear!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Green Amethyst Pencil Necklace

This amethyst is a wonderful shape and colour, I would have a pair of earrings except I couldn't buy a matching pair. I decided that it was far too pretty to pass, and snapped it up, turning it into this pretty piece.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Crystal Sparkle Necklace

This necklace was designed to show off these unusual stones. I decided to have them all facing the same way rather than half-and-half, and I think it works really well. It certainly adds a lot of sparkle to the neck!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Blue Carved Earrings

I adore these stones, they have such a lot of detail! The stones were difficult to mount as the holes went top to bottom, but as they detail runs around the sides, it was easy to create them as earrings with multi-dimensional views!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Garnet Long Necklace

I love tear-drop beads, and these garnet ones are very unusual as the bead is flat, giving a lot of reflection off the large facet. I decided to string them onto a long necklace as I felt it would be a flexible piece, but would also make it magnificent. It worked so much better than I had hoped!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Frosted Amethyst Trio Earrings

I love drops, and I thought the delicate colour of the amethysts was just so pretty they deserved to be showcased.

I love the purple and silver together, and the frosting just adds to the piece.

As they were round, I felt that a round earrings stud would suit them better than a drop, and I'm really pleased with the result. They are so feminine.

Inspiration for pieces explained

Green Leaf Earrings and Necklace

I found the vintage mother-of-pearl leaves at a Vintage Fair on a disintegrating necklace. I had to have them! I paired them with the peridot because it is such a living, green colour. I love the set so much I made another just for me!

Inspiration for pieces explained

Starry Bright Earrings

I wanted to make earrings to go with the Clear Star Necklace (http://www.jewellerydragon.com/HTML/Products/N22008/Necklace.htm), but as I only had two stones left, it didn't give me many choices.

So I went completely simple, and elegant.
