My name is Nicola, and I'm the main designer and craftsperson at JewelleryDragon.
JewelleryDragon is dedicated to creating unique pieces of quality jewellery.
In this blog, I'm aiming to share some of the secrets of JewelleryDragon, inspirations, my personal jewellery collection, and anything else I think a fellow jewellery-holic would enjoy!
As each piece has their own story, I hope you will enjoy reading this blog, and perhaps find something wonderful for that special person in your life.
I found these hearts at a supplier, and decided that they would look great with pink. Having these drops of chalcedony already, it wasn't too much of a leap to add them together!
I wanted to make some romantic earrings for Valentine's Day, and as I've been moving in a very sculptural direction with my jewellery, decided that garnets pavé set with a woven silver frame was the way to go!
I'm very pleased with these as the red is so striking and sparkly. The setting allows maximum light to get to the stones, so you see all that glorious colour.
I bought a vintage necklace that was mother or pearl beads and a mother of pearl pendant. I decided to re-string the pendant on a contrasting set of beads (note to self, still to do), which left me with a lot of vintage mother of pearl!
I thought that a bracelet was the best solution, and to add contrast I used my favourite hand-cut garnets to give richness to the bracelet.
This one is slightly unusual in that I created an animation to show it being created!
You can view the animation below, of see the full thing on YouTube: http://youtu.be/QiMzSQGEEEQ (plus also further down)
I love these beads, the pretty pattern is very well done, and gives this piece a lot of interest. I wanted to add silver beads to it to complete the look.
