Inspiration for pieces explained: Oh My! Sapphire and Rock Crystal Earrings

I really wanted to create a special range of jewellery, and the most precious gems available were the obvious choice. However, as I wanted to create an affordable range, I wanted to distribute the stones within the pieces, while still giving them the maximum impact.
This was partially inspired by some incredible 'triangular' stones I had found, that I wanted to use in a special a piece as possible. These became earrings in the Oh My! range.
So, I decided to use rock crystal. Because of the high-sparkle impact of the stones, and the refractive qualities, it takes the sapphires and really emphasises them to the max. Stunning, and very exiting!
Next step, diamonds :)

Inspiration for pieces explained: Amber Delight Bracelet

I was given this Baltic amber by a relative. It's about twenty years old, and has a wonderful, mellow colour. As the amber is so clear and pretty, I wanted to set it in silver to give the maximum effect. A dangly charm-style bracelet was the way to go, giving each piece of amber a chance to shine. I chose this style as I wanted the piece to be contemporary looking, yet still show each piece perfectly. Job done!

Inspiration for pieces explained: Summer Flower Earrings

I found the amethyst flowers at a supplier, and immediately bought them without a clear plan of what to do with them. I also bought some carved peridot leaves, but the effect was somewhat underwhelming, I felt it needed something more. So I added these marquise cut peridots. They have the depth of colour and the sparkle to turn these earrings into something really special.

Inspiration for pieces explained: Pentagon Amethyst and Pearl Necklace

I love amethyst, and adore the cut of these wonderful stones, each being a perfect pentagon. I wanted to create a necklace with these to highlight the graduated stones, but didn't want to use chain, or another stone that was coloured. Using these rich, gorgeous pearls worked so well I wanted to keep it for myself!
