Purple Haze Bracelet and earrings    

 I found these delightful Tanzanite beads through a supplier, and had to have them.

I at once knew that I wanted them in a bracelet, and decided that surrounding them with clear quartz was the best way to go, because of the delicacy of the colour, and I knew that the quartz would help to reflect and enhance the stones. 

I think it ended up really delightful in the end, and the earrings go beautifully. Due to the small quantity of stones I could  skimp on the bracelet to make a necklace, but decided not to, I wanted the bracelet to be as generous as possible. 

I also wanted to be generous with the earrings, I could have used clear crystal as a filler, but decided that in this case strength was in numbers, so used all Tanzanite.

Gemstones explained: Carnelian

Carnelian, which is also  referred to as cornelian, is found primarily in India, as well as South America. 

It is a variety of chalcedony, and the best pieces range from deep red to orange in colour. It was once considered strictly the property of the noble class, and people holding a high social status were often buried with it.

Elegance Garnet Bracelet and necklace    

   


I found this chain at a supplier, and wanted to make something special with it. 

Rather than clutter it up, or even use it unadorned, I found that adding different sized garnets added to the piece in an unexpectedly graceful way. The tiny spots of colour suit the large chain, and create a delicate piece. 

The garnets are lovely as they are all hand-carved, giving them warmth and unusual faceting.

Rock Crystal and Silver Bracelet    

 

I adore rock crystal, and felt that these stones needed to shine individually. 
As putting them too close together caused the stones to lock, I decided to add a silver bead between them to make sure the stones would have some freedom of movement.
