Clear Star Necklace

Like the amethyst version, (http://www.jewellerydragon.com/HTML/Products/N22003/Necklace.htm) I wanted this necklace to show off the stones. However, as I had made the amethyst earrings, (http://www.jewellerydragon.com/HTML/Products/E22004/Earrings.htm ), I decided to create a necklace that copied the feel.

I tried having the stars on individual chains and separate from each other, but holding them together I realised they looked so pretty together that I had to go for it.

The circle of silver was designed to both hold the stars and the necklace part as well as be a striking feature. Overall a success.

Inspiration for pieces explained

 Victorian and Crystal Cuff Bracelet

I had enough beads to make a simple cuff of all jet beads for this, then disaster struck, and I broke a bead.  Although it could be repaired, I knew it would never be good enough.

So instead, I used some vintage rough-cut rock crystal beads to act as spacers between the jet, and allow me to get rid of the broken bead. I think the end result is amazing, far better than my original plans.
