Inspiration for pieces explained: Butterfly Necklace

My favourite thing at the moment is to sculpt with wire and gemstones. There is nothing lovelier than the idea of someone wearing a sculpture by you! So I decided to create a butterfly. I wanted it to be as real as I could get, reproducing the actual design of a British butterfly.

However, as I started on this peacock butterfly, I realised that there was too much detail in a butterflies wing for me to be able to capture, the tiny stones I work with were too large! So instead I went for a close approximation, and I think that by sticking with the colour scheme I did the right thing, the butterfly looks almost real!

p.s. And don't forget, I can customise any piece just for you, make it longer, shorter, or change the fitting! Just ask!
