Inspiration for pieces explained: Oh My! Emerald Necklace

I really wanted to create a special range of jewellery, and the most precious gems available were the obvious choice. However, as I wanted to create an affordable range, I wanted to distribute the stones within the pieces, while still giving them the maximum impact. This was partially inspired by some incredible 'triangular' stones I had found, that I wanted to use in a special a piece as possible. These became earrings in the Oh My! range.

So, I decided to use rock crystal. Because of the high-sparkle impact of the stones, and the refractive qualities, it takes the emeralds and really emphasises them to the max. I went for these larger rock crystals, and not the stones that inspired me as the original stones were very small, and have highly cut edges, making them perhaps uncomfortable to wear in a necklace, but perfect in earrings. I decided to not focus the emeralds in one area, either, distributing them evenly with the rock crystal so you get the colour right around the necklace. Stunning, and very exiting!
